Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ –

Grace to you and peace from God our Father and from our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

These are truly unprecedented times.  In my entire 20 years as a pastor I have only had to cancel worship three or four times.  All of those worship cancellations were for rotten weather like ice storms and blizzards.  Now we are cancelling worship at Saint Stephen indefinitely  because of the COVID-19.

I will truly miss worshiping our Lord with you all very much, but I firmly believe that this is the right decision.  It is important for all of us to remember that we are doing this for the health of our entire nation.

We are working on ways that we can stay connected with one another during these weeks when we cannot gather together in person.  I will be actively posting on my blog  Every Saturday I will post scripture readings there for us to think about together.  I will post sermons there each Sunday in both text and recorded formats.  Throughout the week I will share with you some thoughts about what God is up to in our world and in our lives.  The blog has a place for you to comment.  I encourage you to share your thoughts.

Please know that you are all very much in my heart, thoughts, and prayers.  I pray for you all daily.  Like Saint Paul longed to see his brothers and sisters in Christ in the church in ancient Rome – I too long to see you.

In Christ and with Love –

Pastor Kerri
